Why: Drug take back events serve three important public health and safety purposes. Proper disposal of unused medication prevents diversion of prescription drugs with potential for abuse. Secondly, unused medication in the home can pose a risk to young children who might accidently ingest the medication. Lastly, properly disposing of unused medication protects our environment.
